What We Do

Increasing opportunities for people with autism and related disorders

Health Insurance

Autism Foundation of Sauk Valley is dedicated to shortening waitlists in our area and increasing the availability of medically-necessary healthcare services. We offer scholarships to cover child-only insurance policies for Medicaid recipients seeking therapeutic services. This helps kids get off waitlists faster with fewer barriers to treatment and helps bring more providers to our area to meet our needs with sustainable reimbursement rates. We look forward to a day where access to treatment is no longer an issue for any child.

Out of Pocket Costs

Even if a family does not qualify for Medicaid, out of pocket costs can become a barrier for families seeking treatment. Even the copays for a life-changing service like speech therapy can become daunting when due on a weekly basis, no matter how much the child needs it. The Autism Foundation of Sauk Valley is determined to remove cost-related barriers to treatment by offering scholarships to families with outstanding balances due to receiving services related to their condition.

Scholarships

The end of childhood is just the beginning! The Autism Foundation of Sauk Valley offers scholarships to high school seniors with autism and related disorders seeking to further their independence--whether at college, trade school, or other fulfilling ventures. Scholarships are also available to typically developing high school seniors pursuing careers in therapeutic healthcare including but not limited to speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, ABA therapy, licensed clinical psychology, and licensed clinical social work.

It's our mission

To remove cost as a barrier to treatment

Being a special needs parent is hard--from securing childcare that meets your child's needs to holding down a job that allows you to leave when school calls, there are so many challenges to overcome. The ability to pay for your child's life-changing treatment should not be one of them.
